Our History

The Southampton Royal Naval Officers Association (SRNOA) was formed in 1965 on the disbandment of the Royal Naval Supplementary Volunteer Reserve by its last remaining five officers; meetings were initially held in HMS Wessex, the RNR unit in Southampton.  The SRNOA has maintained a close affinity with serving and retired RNR officers from both HMS Wessex and its successor HMS King Alfred in Portsmouth.
